The Bunnies Are Out Of Hiding

...and The Winners Are!!

Spring may have sprung and the grass is surely ris, but we wonder where the sunshine is?

However gloomy our skies may have been, it did not dampen the sleuthing skills or spirits of our neighborhood children one iota. Our Village windows were full of those trademark finger and noseprints we have become so familiar with as our storefronts were searched for the elusive ‘Little Brown Bunnies.’ The bunnies have become masters at hiding these past years, but our hundreds of children were not daunted in the least…our bursting ballot box a testament to their tenacity.

Our three ecstatic winners, pictured here along with some ballot hopefuls are: in 2nd and 3rd place, Monica Devonshire and Damien Charlie. And in 1st place, Thomas Dignum. All three of our winners received a cash prize and a chocolate filled Easter Basket courtesy of the Edgemont Village Business & Professional Association.

We were happy to see so many children participating in this fun event and look forward to seeing you all again here in the Village at our other events.

Seasonal Events

Harvest Festival This free, village-wide street fair sees the community packed with 5000 attendees who come to enjoy a variety of family-friendly, all-day events. From bands on the main stage, to Irish dancers, a ventriloquist, or The Extreme bike show with Dangerous Dan — there’s something for everyone.

Christmas in The Village Come December, Edgemont Village transforms into a winter wonderland. Each Christmas, we decorate our distinctive, red lamp standards to resemble giant candy canes and light the trees on the street corners and boulevards. Carolers line the streets, Santa makes an annual stop for a day of photos with kids (and pets!) and community contests add to the buzz.

Evenings in Edgemont As surely as summer arrives, so does live music come to Edgemont Village on Friday nights throughout July and August. This joint initiative with the Parks and Recreation Commission has been a resounding success from its first note 9 summers ago. Here, in our extremely beautiful natural setting, we are able to present the sounds of 8 diverse, professional bands for families to enjoy while spending time with their friends and neighbours right in the heart of the village. Attendance at these evenings has grown to average 1200 to 1500 or more; the series finale in August, at which we share the evening with Public Dreams Society and the Wild Lights festival, has attracted attendees of up to 5000.
