Quilts in the Village

During May, the merchants of Edgemont Village and the Grouse Mountain Day Quilters’ Guild welcomed spring and Mothers’ Day by displaying their quilts in merchant windows for the month. The Guild held a show called Quilts in the Chapel and was pleased to participate in this month-long display of Quilts in the Village. There wasl also an interactive game for children up to age 12 with a prize drawn from entries at the end of the month. The GMDQG was very pleased to be in the Village for this event and is grateful for the support of all the merchants. Thanks to all who came and saw the quilts, and to take a look in the shops and restaurants and help make Quilts in the Village and Quilts in the Chapel a wonderful success!

Seasonal Events

Harvest Festival This free, village-wide street fair sees the community packed with 5000 attendees who come to enjoy a variety of family-friendly, all-day events. From bands on the main stage, to Irish dancers, a ventriloquist, or The Extreme bike show with Dangerous Dan — there’s something for everyone.

Christmas in The Village Come December, Edgemont Village transforms into a winter wonderland. Each Christmas, we decorate our distinctive, red lamp standards to resemble giant candy canes and light the trees on the street corners and boulevards. Carolers line the streets, Santa makes an annual stop for a day of photos with kids (and pets!) and community contests add to the buzz.

Evenings in Edgemont As surely as summer arrives, so does live music come to Edgemont Village on Friday nights throughout July and August. This joint initiative with the Parks and Recreation Commission has been a resounding success from its first note 9 summers ago. Here, in our extremely beautiful natural setting, we are able to present the sounds of 8 diverse, professional bands for families to enjoy while spending time with their friends and neighbours right in the heart of the village. Attendance at these evenings has grown to average 1200 to 1500 or more; the series finale in August, at which we share the evening with Public Dreams Society and the Wild Lights festival, has attracted attendees of up to 5000.
